The following documents will be of interest to those wanting to understand more about the Josephite style of education. Use can also be made of van Crombrugghe's own Speeches and Writings in 'Our Founder'

  1. The Journal of Ignace. This is a diary written between 1814 and 1844 by Br Ignace (Guillaume van den Bossche) who became the first Superior General of the Josephites.

  2. The Pedagogical Guide is a collection of saying about good practice in Josephite Schools inspired by van Crombrugghe and compiled shortly his death. A good number of the maxims refer to the setting of the boarding school. The language is that of the 19th Century.
