Parishes in the DR Congo

The three parishes run by the Josephites are all in the West Kasai. Unlike other parishes administered elsewhere by Josephites, the parishes in the DR Congo are directly adjacent to the Josephite schools. Josephites also celebrate Mass in other parishes and in various communities of Religious Sisters especially on the plateau at Kimwenza.

The most recent church building is in the Parish of Christ our Saviour in Ilebo. This new church was consecrated by the Bishop of the diocese of Mweka in 2007. It was necessary as the previous church building became too small to accommodate the 700+ young people who wished to celebrate Sunday Mass together every Sunday.

The Parish of St Joseph in Bulongo also serves the needs of the boarders attending St Joseph College. The Sunday Mass is enhanced by the Congolese love for singing in their liturgy.

The Parish of Bon Secours at Domingo also serves the needs of the boarders as well as the local community.
